What does an energy management system do?+

It organises utility data and can provide live monitoring, historic reporting, alerts, equipment schedules and direct control of compatible assets.

How much can an energy management system save?+

The system creates no saving by itself. Results depend on the waste found, changes made and whether those changes are maintained.

Is an EMS the same as a smart meter or BMS?+

No. A smart meter mainly records the supply and a BMS usually controls services such as heating and ventilation. An EMS can combine both with submeters, tariffs, generation and equipment data.

Can it work with solar and battery storage?+

Yes. It can monitor generation, imports, exports and battery activity and, where controls are compatible, help coordinate storage, EV charging and other flexible loads.
